Pure Wild Caught Costa Rican Guppy(Poecilia Reticulata) Never Bred for any specific phenotype. I keep 2 20 Gal.(75.708 Liter) Aquariums of Guppies that are genotypically the same but phenotypically different. Both Aquariums of very closely related free breeding Guppies are switched out and crossed over once a year to diversify their gene pool. All of my Guppies are descended from wild Guppies collected by myself in Dec. 2004. Colony established since Jan. 2005. These WCCRG will have very similar markings and coloration but each male will be unique in Pattern. Actually all phenotypes from my Wild Costa Rican Guppies also carry these traits. They carry a "Green Eye Spot" on their front halves and/or a "Green Eye Spot" on the base of the Caudal or on the Caudal itself. They also carry a thin black line from behind the eye to just short of the Dorsal and/or a thin black line from just about the base of the Dorsal to the base of the Caudal. As well as a very elegant "Checkered Dorsal" and "Single Sword-Tails" or "Double Sword-Tails".(Double Sword-Tails are not extended past the fin rays like most Hybrids would show). None of my Guppies have been crossed with domestic or "Feeder" stock of any type. This strain breeds True. I am now starting the process of breeding phenotypes or "sports" from my WCCRG and will be offering them soon.
LIME GREEN COSTA RICAN GUPPY
Lime Green Costa Rican Guppy(Poecilia Reticulata)Phenotype 2. These Lime Green Guppies are the result of extensive line breeding of my WCCRG. All of my Guppies are descended from wild Guppies collected by myself in Dec. 2004. Colony established since Jan. 2005. These WCCRG will have very similar markings and coloration but each male will be unique in Pattern. I have selectively bred all WCCRG with the greenest and largest "Green Eye Spot" on their front halves and/or a "Green Eye Spot" on the base of the Caudal or on the Caudal itself. The fry from the first drop from each female were separated and sexed and I bred back all the daughters from all drops back to the "Greenest" WCCRG males. I have done this to the point where I created this phenotype that I liked and now hope you do too. This strain breeds True. They also carry a thin black line from behind the eye to just short of the Dorsal and/or a thin black line from just about the base of the Dorsal to the base of the Caudal. As well as a very elegant "Checkered Dorsal" and "Peacock-Spot Tail". None of my Guppies have been crossed with domestic or "Feeder" stock of any type. This strain breeds True. I am currently in the process of breeding phenotypes or "sports" from my WCCRG and will be offering more soon.

Most of my fish Grow-Out in heavily planted, unfiltered Green Water. They are then raised in Separate,Clean, and filtered same sex aquariums until they are shipped. At this point they are fed 3-5 times daily.
Feedings consist of a combination of any of the following:
As well as live: tubifex worms, bloodworms, blackworms, brine shrimp and an always present colony of Microworms which are always found in most well established aquariums, and HBH Natural Veggie Flake Basic* from birth up until they are sub-adults. They are given additional feedings 1-3 times daily to supplement any deficiency.
*Formerly called Basic Growth a completely well balanced vegetarian flake food from http://www.kensfish.com/hbhflake.html Which all my fish love.
